Nowadays, and more and more, many people are starting to use ecological fabrics, but some are still not very clear about what they are about and why their use is so important. Ecological fashion began to be used a few years ago and is based mainly on the way in which they are made.
The materials used to do so are not the same as for any other type of clothing. In its preparation the use of any type of chemical, or pesticides or fertilizers is discarded. It is a program carried out to continue preserving our environment, which due to the hand of man through the years, is so damaged.
It started about 30 years ago, but hardly anyone knew what this program was about implementing ecological fabrics; many believed that it was cheap clothing that only the poor or typical of hippie fashion wore. In recent years, this type of clothing began to become famous for clothing fairs in countries such as England and the United States.
Some brands of outstanding recognition are committed to the environment and organize parades where all the equipment is made of ecological fabrics, made with organic cotton. In developed countries, premises were designed that target only a specific audience, who want to join and use this clothing made with ecological fabrics.
The materials used are resistant enough to any type of pest and also to ultraviolet rays, so it is not necessary at all to apply any type of pesticide or chemical compound that makes it a non-ecological material.
These can be: wood, hemp, soy, bamboo, etc., among others. It is a proposal that has just begun and is in growth plans because more and more people join and buy this type of clothing, either for their own use and for their family or for decorating their home.
The process through which organic cotton must pass, essential material for the elaboration of ecological fabrics, is the following: As a first step, plant them in areas free of any chemical compound present in the air and away from the sun's rays. The growth period is estimated between approximately three and a half years and only organic compounds are used, such as fertilizers of natural or vegetable origin.
WHY ARE ECOLOGICAL FABRICS?
Because these materials are only certified as ecological if during their manufacturing process they meet the following standards:
1- Recycle water
2- Minimize the environmental impact
3- Use the minimum amount of energy
4- Use hydroponic crops (do not need soil)
5- Do not use biodegradable elements
6 - Do not use chemical processes
7 - Rationally use natural resources
